| The shortest way to reach Bear Lake Road from Estes Park is to take Highway 36 to the Beaver Meadows Entrance. Just past the toll plaza, turn left onto Bear Lake Road. |
| The junction is marked by a grove of aspen trees. Beautiful at any time, these trees are particularly spectacular in the fall. This is also a good stretch of road to keep your eyes open for a coyote. |
