| TRAILHEAD Glacier Gorge PARKING Limited at trailhead. Best bet is to take the shuttle. Parking at Bear Lake and hiking to the trailhead adds about a mile. ONE WAY DISTANCE 2.7 miles ELEVATION AT TRAILHEAD 9,240' ELEVATION AT DESTINATION 10,180' ELEVATION GAIN 940' RATING Steadily uphill with only one exposed area and a couple of steeper sections. Fine for flatlanders - just take your time. FEATURES Alberta Falls The Loch DESCRIPTION The Loch is a perennial favorite - many consider it the most beautiful lake in the park. SIDETRIPS Continue up the trail to Timberline Falls, Lake of Glass and Sky Pond. Mills Lake is a relatively short detour. An unimproved trail connects to Lake Haiyaha. From there a popular trail leads to Dream Lake, Nymph Lake and Bear Lake. |
